Can I track how far people scroll on my web pages or whether they reach the end of an article?

Event Tracking doesn’t track web page scrolling or whether users reach the end of an article by default. But using some creative content tracking scripts, you can track this in Google Analytics using Event Tracking. Check out this LunaMetrics blog for details.

Hi,

Good info!

Does a session will be counted as a bounce if an event was triggered (in a single page).

or

a click to call button (that is not defined as an event in GA) has a occurred in on a single page lp, is that a bounce?

Hi Oshri,

If this hit (event) is a non-interaction hit, this session will be counted as a bounce. If this hit (event) is an interaction hit, this session will not be counted as a bounce.

Here you can read more about that

2) https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/1033068?hl=en

Hope this helps.

Hi Taavi,

Thanks that clarified things.

I have a button on my lp that might be an end of the journey for a significant percentage of my traffic. It's not sending an event, this can be a reasonable explanation for high bounce rate.

Thanks,

Oshri.
