Knowledge Panel Only Showing With Full Address

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

We are updating the KP for Level Office, a multi-location, multi-city co working space whose HQ is at 73 West Monroe, Chicago, IL 60603

The location phone number is (312) 561-5500

Google + can be found at https://plus.google.com/b/102889565303693403932/+LevelOfficeChicago?gmbpt=true&hl=en

I cannot estimate the time I have spent grading the GMB listing for the missing piece of information which will enable a Google search for "Level Office" to produce either the brand page or the main HQ listing. A ton. I've learned a lot in the process, but this last challenge eludes me. In many calls with Google support, they all have said "further optimize" the page and it does show with the full address included. But we're looking for it to appear with the simple brand search "Level Office".

Any assistance would bring tears of joy;) Thanks!

Hi @Michael S

There are a couple of things you need to understand about which KP, Google will show. Naturally if you have a location in a city and the user is within that city, they will show that cities Business KP, this also applies if they use a city within the search query.

What you are trying to achieve, as I understand it, is the searches outside of a location city.

It will take a bit of time, because Google needs to understand the structure, but here is your starting point.

On Site Signals:

Its a shame that you accepted the Custom Url with >> Chicago in for your head office, as Google will treat this as more location based now, but we can try.

Structured Data:

We want to tell Google who the head office is, and thats chicago.

Footer >> Full details reguired for structured data

Level Office   Love Your Office.png

Level Office Head Quarters

73 W Monroe St
Chicago, IL 60603

T: +1 312-561-5500

Replace Current Organization Stuctured Data with this ( Sitewide ) either in header.php or footer.php file

<script type="application/ld+json">
	{
  	"@context": "http://schema.org",
  	"@type": "Organization",
  	"address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "streetAddress": "73 W Monroe St ",
    "addressLocality": "Chicago",
    "addressRegion": "IL",
    "postalCode":"60603"

  	},
  	"description": "Level Office rent private offices, coworking desks and meeting space so your business can thrive",
  	"name": "Level Office",
    "logo": "http://leveloffice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/level-office-logo-transparent-background-220x80.png",
    "legalName": "Level Office",
    "telephone": "+1 312-561-5500",
  	 "url": "http://leveloffice.com/",
     "sameAs" : [
    "http://https://www.facebook.com/leveloffice",
    "http://https://twitter.com/leveloffice",
    "http://https://google.com/+LevelOfficeChicago",
    "http://https://instagram.com/level.office/",
    "http://https://www.linkedin.com/company/level-office---chicago"
    ]

  }
  	}
</script>

Location Pages:

Each location page needs to have structured data that indicates this as a local business.

I will take the Chicago one again:

http://leveloffice.com/locations/illinois/chicago/73-w-monroe/

You need to add full address of location onto location page ( side bar perhaps )

Name:

Address:

Tel:

Hours:

<script type="application/ld+json">
	{
  	"@context": "http://schema.org",
  	"@type": "LocalBusiness",
  	"address": {
    "@type": "PostalAddress",
    "streetAddress": "73 W Monroe St ",
    "addressLocality": "Chicago",
    "addressRegion": "IL",
    "postalCode":"60603"

  	},
  	"name": "Level Office",
    "logo": "http://leveloffice.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/level-office-logo-transparent-background-220x80.png",
     "telephone": "+1 312-561-5500",
     "openingHours": "Mo-Su 24Hrs",
  	 "url": "http://leveloffice.com/",
     "hasMap": "https://goo.gl/maps/M1C8GaanzVu",
     "sameAs" : "http://https://google.com/+LevelOfficeChicago"

  }
  	}
</script>

I only used the sameAs to denote the Business Page URL, you could add in a BBB link for that property or any other social specific to that property.

For location pages that have a verified business page, I would recommend embedding the actual business page from Maps, rather then the one being used now.

So the one on Chicago 73 W location page could be replaced with this:

<iframe src="https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d2970.580978077233!2d-87.63244568455885!3d41.88036097922207!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x880e2cbc9d4207af%3A0xb2b01925b0dc52e7!2sLevel+Office!5e0!3m2!1sen!2suk!4v1474015579156" width="600" height="450" frameborder="0" style="border:0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This won't happen magically overnight, but it will at least define the structure of the business to search engines.

Thanks Tim- we've done number 1, are reviewing 2 and 3 and have a question. You said:

"You need to add full address of location onto location page ( side bar perhaps )

Name:

Address:

Tel:

Hours:"

Question: would this be visible or just structured data as in the deployment before sitewide in the header? I'm just looking for a touch more direction on implementation. I see you mention in a sidebar: does that mean simply embedded in a sidebar but not visible? Thanks!

Hi @Michael S

Structured data need to markup Visible on Page content.

You can use Sidebar ( I just though it would fit nicely there ) but you can add it lower in page, whichever suits the page.
