Why authorization charge for full amount when adding new credit cards.
I have a pending amount of $475 due on my account, I just added a new card to pay the amount due and it authorized my card for the amount of $475. Now I need to pay my bill and it deducts another $475. So Google is basically holding double the money just for adding a card. The money is gone out of my checking account until the charge falls off in 3 to 5 days. Wasn't like this before, why can't you guys just authorize $1 to see if the card is valid...
Re: Why authorization charge for full amount when adding new credit ca
The authorization is done this way to ensure that the card has enough credit available to pay the amount due, but I understand it can be inconvenient. I'll pass your feedback along to our technical team as a potential improvement in the billing process!
