Fake Clicks

Hi Google Officers

My name is Sam and I have a technical question about one of my clients. Generally, my client’s daily expense was $300, but it has reached $2000 recently. I am of the view that one of my client’s competitors has organized a fake click campaign. This should be done using pocket wifi where the intruder can get multiple IP addresses in second.

Highly appreciate, if you would let me know as to how we should avoid this.

Hi Sam,

My first concern here is that how much was the daily budget you had set for your client? Was it in total near to $2000 as per your post where you said that instead of $300, now the daily spend is $2000.

If that's the case, then there is a possibility that your client's campaign are reaching their daily budget and earlier, the account was not driving more clicks, cost etc...

Do you have some internal system where you are tracking IP addresses of the clicks being tracked?

As said above, Google does have sophisticated tools and techniques to take care of this issue and prevent their advertisers from this invalid click activity.

But if you still think that you need to get it reviewed, then here's the troubleshooter which can be used to notify and ask Google for an investigation:
