Billing and possible identity theft

Hello Community,

 

this morning, one of my friends (not very computer-literate) contacted me with a rather serious problem. She received mails first from adwords-noreply@google.com, then from billing-noreply@google.com telling her that first an Adword-account was created, than that an Adword-campaign was published, and later on that the campaign was suspended due to blocked payment. My fried assures me that she never opened an Adword-Account and that the credit card number mentioned in the email does not belong to her. Could anyone here direct me to the competent contact for this kind of problems?

Ask your friend to try this URL: google.com/adwords and see if she can logged in and see Google AdWords interface using the email id where she received those emails. If she can see, then she should note the Customer ID number (10 digit number) on top and call the AdWords support team for more insights about that account: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/8206?hl=en&hlrm=en
