Account not eligible for promotion

I created a new Adwords account about a month ago with the intention of using a promotional code I received. I just added my billing information today and looked for a place to add my promotional code. Eventually, I found it in the billing settings. However, I received the message that my account was beyond the limited days of my promotion. 

 

I have not started any of my campaigns yet. Why can't I redeem this promotion?

Hello William,

Adwords promotional codes come with specific terms and conditions, and this is the first condition.

'You are eligible for promotional credit if you are new to AdWords and have an AdWords account which is less than 21 days old at the time you enter your promotional code.'

Your account is more than 21 days old (what is considered here is the day when you created the account, not the day when you started your campaign).

It's not possible to have two AdWords accounts with the same email address.

Please follow the steps described in the second point (Add a new administrative ......) under

'We also recommend that you follow these steps before canceling your account:' if you want to use the same email ID.

You may create a new account to get the credit as you haven't advertised from your present account.

Thanks for this info Deepak. Since I have not started advertising, is it possible for me to cancel my account and re-signup using the same email address to obtain the credit?

Thanks for posting on the AdWords Community about AdWords promotional codes. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble redeeming your promotional code.

Currently, most promotional codes use account age to check if an account is eligible for a promotional codes. Most of our promotional codes are for accounts less than 21 days old. In this case, it sounds like you created an account, but never served ads until recently. Unfortunately, the day you start an account is the day your account age starts.

The good news is that we can get you a replacement code that will actually work for your account. This replacement code will not require you to create a brand new account and will instead let you use the one that you already have and intended to use in the first place.

To get a replacement code, you can contact our AdWords Customer Support at 1-866-2-GOOGLE. Please refer the Online Specialist who helps you to this post and let them know that I have referred you to them!

Hello, I am having the same issue. I have received a promo code, but when I try to use it I get this message: "Because you previously used a promotion, your account isn't eligible to use this promotion."

What's the point to send me a code if you know I can't use it.
