start with Remarketing

I've been out of the PPC game for a couple of years now and I'm just getting back into it for my new employer.

We're an ecommerce company selling products from a variety of different brands and we want to try Remarketing - but where to start? We will probably eventually try everything to see what works best for us but I'd appreciate it if anyone else in ecommerce could advise on a good starting point based on their experiences.

Abandoned shopping cart conversions? All visitors? Visitors to specific brand pages with targeted dual-brand campaigns?

Thanks

Hi Anil,

First - install your code and create your lists...depending on the site traffic, some audience lists could take some time to populate.

Indeed, there are many possibilities for strategic approaches to remarketing.  I would start with what you mentioned, Abandoned shopping cart conversions and see how that works.  If you find some success, then you could take things a bit further with more specific audiences based on products viewed etc...there are limitless possibilities.

One last note, make sure your remarketing ads make sense.  Don't show the same ads the users have seen before.  You must entice the user to return to your site by removing any tension they had the first time.  Offer discounts and deals, whatever you can to enhance their previous experience.

Hope that helps!
