retargeting question

when we setup up a retargeting campaigm, should i add keywords to that campaigm?, i was heard that we dont need to add keywords.

You don't keywords for the display network reamrketing. But need keywords for search network remarketing. Thanks.

Hi there;

 

For the "classic" display network remarketing you don't need keywords.  However; adding KWs to  re-marketing (on display) t is highly recommended to narrow the sites in which  the user will see your ad - Only to sites  that the theme of keywords matches the content of the page. (This is also known as contextual targeting)-

 

With the new RSLA (Remarketing List for Search Ads )  - you must have keywords (and bid on them)
