Hi

I am new here so hopefully I am posting my question in the right forum! We are creating GDN banners in html5 for the first time and we cannot get the size to under the 150 limit. We've used Adobe Edge and also google web design software but are struggling still.

Any tips... any hints... any help appreciated!

A quick fix for a static banner ad is to use Paint that is on your Computer and just re-size it accordingly.

Hello, Julie.

The first place to look at is your assets folder. If you have a set of images who total more than 150 kb, I doubt zip is going to compress them, along with the text files GWD uses, to something less than 150 kb.

So what you need to do is to try and reduce the size of your images. Less colors, higher compression, until you reach an acceptable compromise.

Apart from that, try to use vector graphics (SVG, but make sure you don't export them with CSS styles but rather with inline attributes) and text where appropriate. Don't use images where you write "Hurry up before offer expires" if that bit can be text instead. Also, if you have a moving circle on the screen, or several of them, make sure those are vectors, not bitmaps.

Hope it helps.
