Hi Ellen,

How are you reviewing the data? Are you comparing the AdWords report in Analytics to the conversions in AdWords?

Overall, there are several reasons why this could be different.

One issue can arise if you're tracking only Unique conversions in AdWords, while Analytics tracks all goal completions. So the data in AdWords will be different from Analytics.

Other issues could be due to improperly implemented tags. Have you tried using the Tag Assistant to check if the tags are working properly?

Hi Ellen,

Although they are both systems from Google, they may measure different kinds of thingsand at different moments. So even if you track the same page with the same goal which could be a "Thank you" page, numbers can be different.

For instance, Google Analytics consider user last click source as conversion attribution. Adwords on the other hand, consider the first click source. Things like that make a bit difference for your numbers.

Differences are expected, but usually there're a tolerance rate. Some consider 20% as an acceptable number, other just 5%. It is up to you.
