Searching for my business in Google maps, there is always showing a competitors advertise. This is very annoying and it could be confusing for some people because multiple tags are showing on the map.

Is there something I can do about it?

Hello;
This practice (of showing a competitor's ad when a user is searching for your business) - is a legitimate practice, allowed by Google.

Hi Stella,

Bidding on competitor's brand terms is a legitimate practice in adwords. here is a reference article to help you understand this better -

The reason your competition shows up for your brand term is that they are bidding on your brand. Hence, if you are not bidding on your own terms, I would suggest to start at the earliest.

Hello MosheTLV,

I am aware that Google allows us to bid on competitor's brand terms. But can you throw some light on the case if these are trademarked. Is there another rule for bidding on trade marked terms. I know I wouldn't want to bid on them.

More information would be helpful.

Good morning, K**bleep**ja C.

Google allows bidding on other company names and trademark terms as allowed by the laws of the country where the advertising takes place. For more detailed information, please see the AdWords Trademark Policies.
