Youtube video campaign help![ Edited ]
December 2016 - last edited December 2016
So since morning till now I've been studying this AdWords world since i just discovered it and want to use it to help my YT channel get some exposure through some of my videos.
So what I did was: I set up a new Video Campaign, I went thru the process of -Setting my daily budget, -Selecting my targeted audience (which I selected everyone as my videos are entertainment so no specific audience is targeted), -Selecting my maximum CPV, -Selecting type of ad i want (chose Discovery). The process ended up successful and "eligible" . Now there is one thing i DO NOT understand nor have I found any up to date guides. KEYWORDS. I know what they are, I know whats their use. So here's my questions:
1) Do you set keywords for your campaign every time (since I think that's logical as they can be different types) OR does your whole account have its own keywords (asking since the only place i found to add keywords is on "Home" and I didn't see any connection with my campaign there.)
2.) Following 1., if you set your keywords for a campaign, how do you do it? I can edit everything i know and need but cant find any option like "Edit your campaigns keywords" which is I guess necessary as without them everything is 100% useless, google won't know when to show them.
3.) And lastly, does having keywords for youtube video campaign cost? Paying for CPV is expensive as it is but understandable. If I put in keyword like "Funny babies" and it tells me I need to pay 20$ for it then i don't know..
4.) Sorry last one haha, if that's the case and I cant afford keywords, does it even make sense running campaign without keywords.
THANK YOU for your patience and help ^^ <3!

Keywords are targeting terms you add to either the Campaign level or the Adgroup level that make your ads show. For example, if you add the keyword "video", then your ad is eligible to show whenever someone searches "video". There are different types of keywords such as Broad, Exact, Phrase, which all have different effects. You get charged each time someone clicks your ad, and the cost is determined by how much you bid for that corresponding keyword (keywords enter an auction and you bid aginst people who are using the same keywords). However, going into how keywords work is very in-depth so I would recommend you start the Adwords training course which will teach you how to target correctly and how to organize your campaigns and ads. There is also a sub-course specifically for Video ads. - https://support.google.com/partners/answer/3153810?hl=en
I would also recommend that you do not target everyone in your audience. You should research who will be most likely to watch your videos and target those categories, because you could waste a lot of money by not targeting the correct people who are likely to convert. You can also add Negative Keywords, which prevent your ads from showing to people who search for irrelevant terms.

Thank you very much, would you say that doing a campaign without keywords for youtube video is useless? As I am getting my views and daily budget filled up really quick. So after i change my targeted audience to be more precise, should I leave out keywords. And thank you for links and guides.
