  • Your ad isn't being shown for this keyword because there may be other ads within your account that are ranked higher and have similar keywords.

I have two campaigns targeting the same keyword list, but two different locations. My second ad isnt showing up in its location and its saying because of this reason. I got this reason in the ad preview tool and the speech bubble. I don't get why it isn't showing, it's the same keywords targeting but the locations are COMPLETELY different.

Hello,

When using the ad preview and diagnosis tool make sure you set the 'location' to the location you have targeted your campaign.

The message you have quoted normally shows because: you have multiple ad groups which  have keywords that match a search term. In this case AdWords will show your ad - but the one with the highest Quality Score.

What you can do, is to make sure that your campaigns/ad groups don't overlap, use negative keywords or change your keyword match type such phrase or exact match type to ensure the search terms can be triggered by one keyword in an ad group can't be triggered by the other in a different ad group.

I hope this helps the below articles will also help you so I suggest giving them a read.

Okay,

What you are attempting to do should work - you have 1 keyword list targeted at 2 different Geo Graphical Locations.

Please double check at campaign level the target locations are different (im sure they are) also I would just like to ad please let the campaign run for 24 hours and then check again. Sometimes when setting up new campaigns and using the preview tool there may be a minor glitch as the system has not fully recorded your account.

So again make sure the GEO Locations are both different at campaign level and wait 24 hours and check again.

If there are any other solutions im sure someone else will comment.

Finally in regards to your comment ' And what does it matter if the terms are alike?' Yes it dose matter as this is the way AdWords is set up, if you have 2 same keywords in your campaign it would not be fair to return 2 adverts from the same advertiser in the same SERP. But this should not effect you as you are target 2 different GEO-GRAPHIC locations.

Thanks,
