I have a Google site. How can I get less characters in the URL? Can I remove the sites.google.com from the web address?

Hi Crab,

The http://www.  or https://www. prefix can be removed if it helps. If sites.google.com is part of the Display URL it cannot be removed. However, let's focus on this particular issue perhaps you're promoting such a site.

Say the site URL is: https://sites.google.com/site/clubtemplate_en/    (That should be the Destination URL!)

You may also remove the part following google.com or substitute it by anything you like. Hence you may also define the Display URL either of the following ways:

     sites.google.com

     sites.google.com/Crab

I am confident both will fit and be accepted because the character limit is 35. Please update this thread with more details if it does not work.

Best,

Lakatos

Hello;

You cannot; you must keep the sites.google.com/xxxx

My question is,  how can you exceed the 1024 characters allowed for destination URL?
