What does mean by 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 or 1.4 in Avg Ad Position?

Hi,

I am bit confused here. In adwords campaign, when you check each keyword we see AVg Position of each key word. I want to know:

1). What does 1.1 , 1.2 or 1.5 means in add position. Do they mean first 1 for page and second 1 after point as add position on that page.

Hello,

It means first page, an average . For example if you have 2 impressions one in position 1 and one in position 2 ( from the total maximum of 11) , the average position for the 2 impressions is 1.5

Hi Pop,
They are actual average POSITIONS.

If your ad shows in position 1 99 times and position 2 1 times, the average position is a fraction of 2. It's the nature of averages. Obviously there is no position "1.1" but it's an average to help with your optimization.

This does not relate to page numbers. Position 9, 10, 11, 12 etc. means you're on the second and subsequent pages.
