Upload file size for Adwords

I am a new user for Google Web Designer. I have created some ads for my client to upload to Google Adwords, but the file limit is 150KB.

Does that mean the .zip file needs to be less than 150KB?

Currently my .zip file is 408KB but the index.html file is under 50KB.

Is there any way to compress a zip file?

Hi @Melana H,

Yes, the total file size needs to be less than 150KB. This is for all image ads.

When you zip a file, it is compressing it. So the only thing you can do is first strip the individual image files you use to make the file image ad with. That is what we do. You will have to play around a bit to find the right balance of high-quality looks and a small footprint in weight.

Kind Regards,

James

Hi @James_Clemens,

I am not really sure what you mean by stripping the individual image files?

Shouldn't the .svg assets be included in the .zip file?

Hi @Melana H,

The files you build your ad with need to smaller in order for your finished ad to be smaller, so we compress image files, crop them, resize them... basically strip them down so that our images we build the ad with are smaller.

By doing this, once you complete the ad and zip it... it will be much smaller and pass the size requirements.

Kind Regards,

James
