UK Gambling Ads - Aggregator Approval

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

Hi all,

I am trying to get my site approved for gambling ads to target the UK.  I am well versed in the terms and conditions and I believe I've met every one of them to apply as a casino aggregator. I allow my website users to filter, sort and search through a database of casinos that are approved by the UK Gambling Commission, (on their whitelist). I also have real user reviews for all the casinos, editorial reviews etc, it's a very comprehensive site that's had considerable time and money spent on it.

I have the appropriate links to gamcare etc, everything Google ask for as a gambling aggregator but I've not received a response to my aggregator licence (UK) application.  I submitted the application 2 business days ago and the submission success screen told me I would receive a reply in one working day.

I've read everything there is to read on the subject but there are a couple of points I'm still not sure on

1. What form do I use to submit the application?

The form on the 'old look' adwords help site requests more information than the form on the 'new look' adwords help site.  Additional info not asked for on the new application includes any other adwords ID you have that doesn't relate to gambling.

I have filled out the new form as I was not sure if the old one was still in service although publically accessible.

FYI - Old Form

New Form

http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/request.py?hl=en-GB&contact_type=gambling_gb&rd=1

2. Is my new adwords account 'active'? and therfore eligible to be approved (or rejected) for the aggregator licence?

I read on another thread that only active adwords accounts will be reviewed and either approved or rejected, accounts not 'active' seem to receive no response whatsoever from Google.

I have already added my billing details and my account contains 1 valid form of payment via cc.  Is there anything else I need to do to my new adwords account to 'activate' it?

Of course the account has no active ads yet as I am waiting on the aggregator licence application to be approved.

I'm toying with the idea of calling Google tomorrow if I've not received a response today but I know how they are and I don't want to pester them.

Any advice much appreciated!

Hi,

>I have the appropriate links to gamcare etc, everything Google ask for as a gambling aggregator

>but I've not received a response to my aggregator licence (UK) application.

>I submitted the application 2 business days ago and the submission success screen told me

>I would receive a reply in one working day.

They're probably just a little bit behind on things.  I'm surprised they promised a one-day turnaround time, since occasionally we'll get a big influx of applications, ads, or whatever and get a bit behind.  If you don't hear back from them in another day or so, try calling the support number.  Also, I'll as the policy folks if they need to change that form page to say "1 to 3 business days" or some such.

>1. What form do I use to submit the application?

Damned if I know.  I hate to admit it, but I still can't figure out how to navigate the new-look help site.

>I read on another thread that only active adwords accounts will be reviewed and either

>approved or rejected, accounts not 'active' seem to receive no response whatsoever from Google.

I'd be surprised if that were true, but I don't have any definitive inside knowledge one way or the other.

>Is there anything else I need to do to my new adwords account to 'activate' it?

Nope, that should be it.

> Of course the account has no active ads yet as I am waiting on the aggregator licence application to be approved.

Yes, that's exactly correct.  Until the license details are attached to your account, the ads would just get disapproved anyway.

>I'm toying with the idea of calling Google tomorrow if I've not received a response today

>but I know how they are and I don't want to pester them.

Feel free to call them if you haven't heard back yet.  I'm not sure how much the phone support staff know about the gambling approval process (which is done by our "policy" team), but it can't hurt to try.  And if they don't know anything about it, we should fix that.

This is my first post using the new forum software, so apologies if I messed up the formatting.

Dear Laura,

thanks for your feedback and have another question.

We are a UK registered company and hold a license from the German authorities to sell lottery tickets online (in Germany).

Which Department would I need to contact in this case and what steps would be necessary? Where can I find the contact details to that department?

thanks,

Michael

Hi Michael,

The gambling application forms are all linked off of this page.  I think you need to click "Germany" on the form, since your license is to sell lotter tickets in Germany.
