Hi,

Does the traffic estimator account for the ads already showing under that key word and adjust down for the fact there will be another ad -or- does it spit out the average ctr for ads that already show for that key word

or have i missed something....?

thx

Jay

Hello Jay R ! Welcome to the Community !

The only info that I have found in the help page is this

https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2406023

Just quoting

"We use samples of the historical ad performance for your ads and other ads that use similar keywords to calculate the average position. In general, you'll see a "-" when the combination of various factors like your cost-per-click (CPC) bid and clickthrough rate (CTR) aren't sufficient to earn an ad position. Try increasing your CPC bid to get an average position estimate.."

Does this answer your question ?
