Text ad showing - display ads are not - Google Search Network and Display Select chosen

Hi all. I just started a campaign and have everything set right that I can see. I have a text ad and image ads for every possible type listed. Only the text ad is getting any impressions. Since I have so many image ads, I am assuming that I just do not have something simple clicked. Any ideas of what this could be?

Thanks

Jim

Hi Jim,

Please note that your display ads are meant only for Google Display Network. They are not shown for Google search network. Can you check your campaign types that are created in the account?

Hi Pankaj,

I do have Google Search with Display select chosen. It does seem the display ads are working, but only like three or four impressions as opposed to the 7000 I have with the text ad. The text ad is getting clicks so at least it is effective, but I want to know that my display ads are running correctly. The low to non-existent numbers worry me.

Hi James,

Did you try adding some generic keywords in your campaign. In case you are using more restrictive keywords matching option, that could also result in low impressions.

As a side note if you really want to leverage Display Network specifically, you should think about creating a dedicated Display Network campaign only.
