Targeted location doubt

Hi all,

I know this is very basic, although I'm working on a campaign where the targeted location option is confusing me.

The campaign is about French products. Keywords are likely to contain the word "France" of "French".

However, ads are only to be shown to people in the UK.

How would you guys do this?

Locations: UK

Location options:

  • Target: People in my targeted location
  • Exclude: none

or

Locations: UK, FRANCE

Excluded Location: FRANCE

Location options:

  • Target: People in, searching for, or who show interest in my targeted location
  • Exclude: People in my excluded location

Or something else?

Targeted location doubt

Hi @Pieter T,

If you only want the ads to show in the UK and nowhere else, you would use:

Locations: UK

Location options:

  • Target: People in my targeted location
  • Exclude: People in my excluded location

This should narrow your ads to the UK market and not trigger them to general matches that would normally occur in France. You can read more about Advanced Location Targeting in AdWords here.

And review excluding locations here. AdWords will only target locations that you set, so you can target a city, a radius or get as precise as you want with your UK audience.

Kind Regards,

James

Hello @Pieter T,  Greetings

For your requirements, follow the suggested settings below.

In this way, Ads will be shown on UK people and not the France Location People, Keep france in Excluded..

Locations: UK,

Excluded Location: FRANCE

Location options:

  • Target: People in, searching for, or who show interest in my targeted location
  • Exclude: People in my excluded location
