Setting up TrueView In-Search for Demographics targeting[ Edited ]
March 2014 - last edited March 2014
I thought I could setup demographics restrictions for the true-view In-search Ad format, but when setting up a "new targeting group" for a campaign which contains this Ad, the following message appears as soon as I try for example to deselect a gender :
Is there something I am missing or it is just impossible to filter an audience for this type of Ad "TrueView In-Search" , based on demographics ?
What is the work-around to obtain demographics targeting for a TrueView In-Search Ad ? Is it to setup "Negative demographics" at the campaign level ?
Re: Setting up TrueView In-Search for Demographics targeting
I found a clue here , basically the "TrueView In-Search" format will melt away in the "TrueView In-Display" :
The in-search ad format will become part of the in-display ad format. This means the only ad formats available to you will be in-display and in-stream
And under "Richer search targeting options"
Targeting changes in AdWords for video
With this upgrade, you can now use the following targeting settings across all networks, including the YouTube Search Network:
- Demographics targeting
- Interest targeting
- Topic targeting
- Remarketing lists
It looks like what I want will become available in around 2 months. Thank you google, until then, campaign negative demographics targeting works, even if Ad targeting by demographics does not work.
