How can I separate Search and Display impression count in my Home dashboard? I have a Search and Display - All features campaign with aggregate CTR and impressions data, but I am only interested in seeing the Search Network CTR and impressions. Thank you!

Log into to your Adwords Account

1. Select the Campaign you want to create Impression (Search & Display) data to be shown in the dashboard.

2. Click on Columns.

3. Click on Customize Columns.

4, Among "Select Metrics",   Click on Competitive Metrics.

5. Now add Search Impression Share & Display Impression share.

6. Scroll the page down. Select the check box &  give a name to this column.

7. Finally Apply.

The Search & Display Impression data is generated on the basis of number of impression you received divided by the number of impression you would have achieved.

Thanks

Hello and thank you for your detailed reply, I have added that column to my report. What I still haven't figured out is if it is possible to only view metrics for Search in a Search & Display campaign. Thank you!

Hi Mihai S

You can segment by network in most statistics tables, use the segment button.

Hi Mihai S,

This is one of many very good reasons to split your search and display advertising into separate campaigns.

Best of Luck!

I was hoping I didn't have to do this! Going forward I will separate my campaigns so the stats are not aggregate. I thank everyone for your reply.

Hi Mihal S,

It is a really good idea to separate your campaigns. Search advertising is quite a bit different from display. Response and conversion rates are considerably different on the 2 networks.

I know it's tempting to run all in one campaign, as that seems to be less complicated. But the reality is it makes things more complicated than if you separate your campaigns. For one, you would not want your display campaign to use up your search budget because of the much lower conversion rates.

I think you will find the results fo spitting your campaigns well worth the effort.
