Search and Display Network targetting

Newbie question. A company selling products online, with two goals in mind, branding and selling products. To start with, would it be better to target both the Search and Display Network within the same Campaign,

or set up individual campaigns? With a view to using managed placements.

My intention is to target the Search and Display Network, combined with Shopping campaigns.

Hi Neil B,

For new advertisers, it is recommended to go with Search Network with Display Select Campaign Type. But compared to display only campaigns, ads are shown selectively in this type of campaigns. Since it is an ecommerce website, it is always good to choose Google Shopping Campaigns. If profit margin is moderate for the company, it is good to go with Google Shopping Campaigns.

Search and display select is focused on direct response.

So for the branding campaign - I would suggest a  "full" display campaign.
