Remarketing lists or Audiences based on when they visited. ex: 1-7 Day Traffic, 8-14 Day Traffic...

Hey guys,

This might be more of an Analytics question, but got no traction or responses when i posted this there,

I am looking for a way to set up audiences in Analytics that exclude traffic based off of timeframe.

I am trying to create buckets of traffic such as past 3 days, 7 days, past 14 days(excluding the first 7) and so on.

Does anyone know if it is possible to create these standalone audiences straight from Analytics, or if it is possible to exclude certain traffic from an audience based on when they visited? My goal is make sure i dont have any overlaps in my audience buckets.

Other than the membership duration and the lookback settings, i do not see where i else in Analytics i could define these cut off dates for my audiences? Also, I noticed the minimum for lookback days in 7 days, what if i only want to create an audience comprised only of visitors in the past 3 days?

Could any one out there possibly give me an example of how i would set up the following two audiences in Analytics, I could create the rest after:

Audience 1.Past 3 days of traffic

Audience 2.Past 7 days traffic: ( Exclude 1-3 day traffic)

Audience 3.Past 8-14 day traffic: (Exclude 1-3 day traffic  & exclude  4-7 day traffic)

Only info i have been able to find is by straight up excluding one audience from the next within adwords by using

custom combinations. This is what i am doing now, but i am not sure this is set up correctly and as mentioned above the lookback window minimum of 7 days is confusing, as i am not sure if my traffic in the 1-3 day audience is accurante.

Look forward to hearing back

Thanks @James_Clemens

@Celebird , am I overthinking this? Is the only possible way to create these remarketing audiences by creating custom combinations in Adwords to eliminate one from the other?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Hi @Jason M

AdWords is the best place to build audience lists that you want. And there won't be any overlapping audience if it is setup correctly. If you need help on this, please share your current setup.

If you need a list of the people who visited your website between 4 to 7 days. Create a list for 7 days and 3 days respectively and then create a list with combination excluding the one with 3 days from the one with 7 days.

The lookback days in Analytics is similar to Conversion Window that we have in AdWords. And it is not very much flexible. And then Analytics does not allow combination lists.

Hey Ratan Jha,

Thanks for the help. Here would be an example of audiences I am trying to build. I am not sure how i can define product viewers of 25 seconds + within Adwords. Could it be that i have to do this in Analytics?

Audience 1. Visitors - More than 25 seconds - past 7 days -

Audience 2. Visitors- More than 25 seconds - 8 to 14 days ago-

I cant seem to find a place to define time spent on site in Adwords audiences. And on the other hand the

Analytics audience builder is confusing the hell out of me when i try to create the 1 to 7 day audience and

it forces me to pick a ''lookback'' window of at least seven days, wouldnt this essentially turn my 1 - 7 day

audience into a 7-14 day audience since it is going back an additional 7 days?
