Regarding Google SEO

Hello,

I have questions regarding Google Search Engine Optimisation.

I have been told by my friends that if I design/create my websites using WordPress, then the chance of my website appearing on the top of the search result is a lot greater than if I design my website in standard HTML with standard keywords in the header of the page. Is this really true?

Another question is, is there any strategic or secret/cunning way of designing a website in a particular way in order to improve the SEO greatly or is this all lies of the so called SEO professionals/scammers?

Thank you.

Hey Lawrence, how are things?

This community is related to Google Adwords plataform. For SEO and organic search matters, I recommend the official Webmaster community, they treat those there. It's here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/webmasters

Somethings I can clarify though:

No, this is not true. The only difference here is that since WordPress is a vast used platform, for those who don't know anything about SEO or don't have money to hire specialists, you can launch your website with plugins and themes that are already SEO optimized for you, BUT, a standard HTML website have the same chance of results if coded with SEO practices.

Don't think that SEO and all specialists are scammers. There're people not very well intended, but there're a lot of good and professional people out here.

For your question, there isn't any secret about the design, but the thing rely on the architecture od data (Texts, HTML, keywords and such). When you begin to understand a little bit more about SEO, you'll see that many on-page SEO (there's off-page SEO) rely on you following SEO best practices, having some meta tags, H1 elements with keywords and a lot, I mean, a LOOOOT more.

The design will have effect on User Experience. A good UX combined with good SEP data architecture can be a great combo for you.

Hope this helps.
