I would like to advertise two 8-week writing workshops (one for screenwriting, one for fiction and memoir writing)  in London in mid-May as effectively but inexpensively as possible.  What would you suggest?

Good morning

I would suggest that you read up on AdWords and how the program works (here) before you start spending your money.

Most advertisers want "effective but inexpensive" advertising. It can take time to achieve these two goals simultaneously, time that you don't have if it's only about a month until your courses take place.

Aside from that, you would build your advertising the same way any other advertiser would (should) approach the project. Start small with tightly themed Ad Groups, compelling ad text, geographic targeting, and realistic/competitive click bids (without exceeding what you can afford to pay). Let some performance data accumulate and then start optimizing.

Sorry, I can be more specific. Once you have a campaign running, we can offer ideas or suggestions for different things to try but every new advertising initiative starts with the same fundamentals.

If you have specific questions, though, please do ask them!

Hi Erin,

Welcome to the community.

Before you start with your campaign, I would like to suggest you very important point -- Please think from the perspective of your target audience. This approach is key to achieve good results with minimal efforts.

And follow all the steps suggested by Theresa.

I hope this helps.
