My LOCAL business is appearing in a UK site? This is unacceptable. I'm a local business..

I explicitly chose local zip codes in my US geographic region because I'm a local business (within walking or bus-commute) and I look at my campaign this morning and see that my ad is appearing in a UK web site.

See graphic

1.  Do I need to exclude the entire planet in my campaign.

2.  How do I get a refund on these clicks.

Hi Bobbym880,

The reason for that is that your location settings are targeting users and not websites. So you would have had users in your targeted location visiting those websites.

Hope this helps.

I will echo clynton,

You can ensure you are targeting just those people in your location and not people interested in your location under the settings section of your campaign Advanced Locations options.

If you are just showing to those in your location then people are simply visiting the .uk site. They can be in your area but searching on that site.

I would also take a look at your dimensions tab and look geographic data or users location to verify this is the case.

I called Google and they walked me through how to exclude countries from seeing my adwords.
