Multiple accounts?

Hello

Is it not acceptable to have multiple adwords accounts for one domain as I want to target different regions and different keywords to find what works? I had opened several but they ended up getting suspended so just looking for clarification here. Just using one seems cumbersome.

Hi Jay,

Based on what you have stated, you can accomplish this in one account just by using separate campaigns.

IMO, the cumbersome part would be switching accounts to make comparisons etc...

If you're suspended at this point, I'm not sure what you will be able to do.

Hi Jay,

Agree with Tommy here. You just need to target the different geos in different campaigns under the same account for the same domain. You will need to assign the dedicated budget for each geo to each campaign and then you should be able to run your tests.

Also, I agree, it is more painful to switch between accounts to make a comparison. If you want try out this strategy, you need to ensure your domain/website is not suspended only then can you start a new AdWords account.

Hope this helps.

Hello Jay, you can create multiple AdWords account using single domain but your Geo targeting and keywords should be different for each account.

Hi Akjha,

You did notice that in the OP they mentioned that multiple accounts were opened but suspended. In reality, yes in certain, very specific, scenarios, multiple accounts can be used, but for most situations, this will be looked at as suspicious and an effort to double serve.

The best course for a majority of advertisers, especially if they're only looking to test separate geographies (all else the same), is to use separate campaigns within one account.

Hi Akjha,

I agree with Tommy here. I would use the single AdWords account as it eases a lot of work for me. Plus I am assured that there isn't a chance that my account gets suspended.

I have been using this approach ever since I started working in SEM and have never faced a problem with any form of testing or implementation of any sorts.

Cheers!

Hi Mohidul,

Yes, you can pause your complete account structure in one account and then shift to another account and run them their without facing any issues. But you should always ensure that the old account remains paused and is not live anytime in the future till you are running the second account. if you get caught by Google, it will definitely lead to you being penalized and your accounts being suspended.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!
