Managed Placement question:

Hi,

I have three questions:

1. I know of a webpage which runs google display ads. I want to run ads on that page no matter what is the keyword. How can I do that ? Can managed placement work without putting keywords ?

2. I am  trying to add certain urls for showing display ads but google says they are not valid urls. The urls are opening on web browser pretty much.

Ex: www.fodors.com/world/asia/sri-lanka/

Error on google adwordsPlacement URLs must be provided in a valid URL format. www.fodors.com/world/asia/sri-lanka/

However this url is working:

3. How to tell google to show ads on all sub level directories of website?

Let us assume the target domain on which I show ads ahs following structure:

example.com -> directory_1 -> directory _a --> page_i.html

example.com -> directory_1 -> directory_a --> page_ii.html

example.com -> directory_1 -> directory_b --> page_i.html

example.com -> directory_2 -> directory_a -> page_i.html

What should I write in managed placement to target first 3 pages :

example.com / directory_1 / *

OR

example.com / directory_1 /

OR

example.com / directory_1

Hi David,

As for point 1, yes means that we don't need keywords for managed placements.

For point 2, it is not working because of google policies as given in the url you suggested. So that is resolved.

What about point 3, do you have any ideas?

Exactly, you don´t need keywords, just add placements.

Don´t know about 3. I´ve heard about the problem before though

Hi. I had the same problem with adding specific page URLs. Then I tried adding placements through Adwords Editor, I got the error again on Editor but when looked at Adwords I saw that they were successfully uploaded. Maybe you (or anyone else reading this topic) can try that.
