Low search volume

Hello!

I have a whole ad group for which all keywords are marked as LSV. When I type in the search queries in google, there are ads showing from other advertisers. I have tried to change match types but nothing seems to work. Has anybody else has had this problem? Any help will be appreciated.

Hi Reinis,
You can choose to do nothing and wait for Google to automatically check again in a week. If more people start searching for your keyword, Google'll reactivate it. This option can be particularly helpful if you're advertising a new brand, term, or product.
OR
You can remove the keyword and use the Keyword Planner to find additional keyword ideas.

Regards,
Loukik

Yes, that I understand. But one thing I don't understand is why ads from other advertisers are showing for the same keywords?

Hi Reinis,

Though the competitors ads are triggering for the same search term or query but it does not mean that the competitors are also using exactly the same keyword.

The keyword match type can change the whole scenario.

For example:
Your keyword: "AdWords management services"(low search volume)
Competitor keyword: +AdWords +management

Now suppose, your search term is best AdWords management services
On the same query, competitor ad will trigger but not yours(due to LSV.)

Here, the keywords are different but their ads are triggering due to the keyword match type.

Hope it will help you to understand.

Hi Reinis,

I think Archit is correct in his explanation of why you're seeing competitor ads but your ads aren't showing due to LSV.

I recommend targeting broader keywords that are not low search volume.

Best,

John

hi

the ads could be showing more for your competitors maybe because they have a long history of using those keywords. are you getting any impressions?
