Is this appropriate for using AdWords

I have a website that sells various consulting services to businesses. The services are about creating and managing business partnerships / alliances. There are no physical products to sell, just the consulting. Is AdWords an appropriate way to spend money for this type of business. Most of the AdWords examples I've seen use sites that have physical products for sale.

If appropriate, can you give me any ideas on how to approach this or a good source for learning how to use AdWords in a take-me-by-the-hand fashion?

thanks,

Gary

Hello;
Sure;  As you said services are not the "biggest" part of AdWords (Well,,,my view - Google does not disclose the numbers.) However; many consulting services do promote their services on Google using AdWords.
