Hello SAM,
when u click on display planner tool, take option "Show Only Estimates for my targeting criteria" in this option you will find the "Ad format" tab, when you roll over to adformat it shows option “Text ads accepted” or banner ad accepted, it means you can target In display network through Google GDN & if showing “Not accepted” it means you are not able to run on display network.
