Impressions, clicks and ad cost suddenly going down?

Hi,

I'm not sure how to best describe this, but what's happening is that one of my two ads suddenly shows a lower number for impressions, clicks and ad cost! How is this even possible? It's like the ad is going back in time. Very strange. I've not made any changes to the ad.

This is a screenshot from 27 June, three days ago:

This is a screenshot from 30 June, today:

Any help or insight would be appreciated...

Thanks a lot!

Rosa

Hi Rosa,

I think there may be some confusion here. Data is only ever "refreshed" when you make a change to an ad, and the data for the old ad is still kept and can be viewed under "removed".

What date range are you using to view these results?

Hi @Rosa B,

This difference is not up to the level where you need to worry.

Your avg. CPC bids is less on 30th June due to which the average ad position is down by 0.1 and consequently, the stats got effected.

I would not recommend to make frequent changes to the campaigns on the basis for single day stats as everyday you will find such changes in stats due user behavior.

May be weekend performs best and week days perform average and vice-versa.

You can increase your bids slightly.

Use bid adjustments for location and devices.(after proper analysis)

Hi Archit,

Thank you for looking at this!

So does that mean that the numbers of impressions and clicks 'reset' at a certain point?

Yes,

Keep an eye on average ad position, CTR if these changes abruptly.

Thanks Archit! Do you happen to know if there is a set cycle? Like X amount of time before these numbers are refreshed?

Cheers,

Rosa

No.

Its all user behavior, the graph may be sinusoidal throughout the week or it may be exponential.

Firstly, apologies for my delay in getting back.

Hi Abbie - this turned out to be the mistake. I had changed the range of dates and that's exactly why the ads' data looked different. I didn't realise this until much later. Thank you!

Hi Archit, I think I get what you are saying. If you leave the date range as 'last week', the dashboard will not show the total accumulation of impressions and clicks. So it will always depend on what a particular week brought in. Thank you and sorry for the delay in getting back.

I meant that the stats may fluctuate as per the trends on weekdays and weekends.
