Image Ads Placements & Size

Hi,

I will be starting image ads campaign for a web designing, web development & SEO company/website.

When I select the placements, I add the categories for placement ideas. Now, my question is, will my target audience i.e. people who want to build a website for their company or promote their websites online be available in a such web related website? For example, people of the same industry might be browsing web tutorials and a website which gives SEO reviews. So, will this help?

Also, how can I know which image size will be best for my campaign? Should I create 300×250, 200×200, 728×90, 160×600 images and test first?

Please excuse if my question is very immature as I am very new to display ads.

Thanks.

Hi Amita,

For GDN campaign, you can use Display Planner tool to plan your Display Network ad campaigns. Link :https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3056115?hl=en-GB&ref_topic=3119139

Beside that , you can try advanced targeting combinations based on your goals such as Direct sales campaigns or Brand campaigns.Link :https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1209882?hl=en

And for which image size will be best, for my opinion, you should use all size follow the link https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176108?hl=en-GB, to make sure your ads get better performance  Then after 1 week you can re-check and can keep which image size can give you more clicks and impressions.

Hi Amita,

Which campaign type you are using, is it display only or search with display select?
Better if you create a separate 'display only' campaign where you will have more control and features to target the audiences.
You can go with keywords + topic targeting for you campaign and using target and bid setting to get more relevant audience.

Further i recommend you to use all size of image ads for maximum reach. Additionally, you should also go with text ads along with image ads as some placements offers only few ads sizes or only text ads on the display network.

Hi Archit,

My campaign type is Display Only.

For the image sizes, should I use all the image sizes listed in Non-animated image ads?

Thanks for the links. I will check them.

For the image sizes, should I use all the image sizes listed in Non-animated image ads or All HTML5 ads?

Thanks again.

Hi Amita,

Depend on your business and your goal , you can choose Non-animated image ads or All HTML5 ads.

For me, i refer to use HTML5 ,it is will be good for web designing, web development & SEO company/website.

Yes, you must use all the image size listed there to get maximum exposure and reach on various placements, if using only non-animated image ads.
