Hi everyone,

As of late 2016, it is now possible to turn off ad placements on mobile or tablet devices through the campaign settings. You can set a device bid adjustment of -100% for the device type which you want to opt out of.

For full step-by-step instructions and details, please check out this guide on the AdWords Help Center.

Hope this helps!
Cassie

Hi,

You have the ability to exclude mobile devices only, but unfortunately you can't disable tablets , Google now treat them as desktop devices.

Here's how to stop showing ads on mobile devices:-
Click the Campaign Setting tab,
Select Devices subtab,
Click the cell in the "Bid adj." column of the Mobile row you want to adjust.,
Enter a value -100% to opt out of mobile for the selected campaign.

Hi Carl,

Go to Campaigns> Settings > Devices > Bid Adjustment and Decrease Bid for mobile or tablet devices by 100%
by doing so your bid will become 0 for these devices and your ads will not show on these devices.

Hope this is usefull.

Rahul Goel

Pro tip: submit an SWF ad, it will only run on Desktop. No mobile, or tablet. You're welcome.

Not if you save the SWF in the correct file format for google's converter to not be able to convert the swf into html5. I do not know the exact settings, but the ads we have been submitting are only running on desktop. I think it's something like using the oldest version of actionscript and flash that adwords supports for uploading, only the newer versions are available to conversion to HTML5.
