How do I know which campaign is right for me? We have a niche target

Hello. New to Ad Words. We are trying to target a niche group, located in NY - and not sure which type of Campaign we should be running. Is one better than the other? I'm not sure I understand the difference between:

Search and Display Network Campaign Types

Search Only Campaign Types

Display Network only Campaign Types.

Thanks!

Hi Gloss,

Search campaigns run ads on the search results pages while Display campaigns typically show them on 3rd party or Google-owned websites participating in the Display Network.

Based on the above, you are advised to create a Search campaign when you assume the users are directly interested in your offer and to create a Display campaign when you assume users are interested in gathering information on various subject matters,

If you are unsure, please try launching Search and Display campaigns simultaneously so you can later decide which is more suitable for your purposes.

Best,

Lakatos
