How do I get my Google reviews/stars in my ad words campaign?

I am a newbie to adword campaigns, so please be gentle. I have hired someone to create an adword campaign and manage it for me. We are having difficulty figuring out why my Google reviews are not showing up. I have 34 reviews with a 4.9 star rating. This is an adword campaign, NOT adword express.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Reviews from Google+ are only available for AdWords express no AdWords, HOWEVER you can show seller rating and third-party reviews in your ads.

Seller rating:- https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375474?hl=en

Third-party reviews:- https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/3236114?hl=en&ref_topic=3119076

Thanks for your reply, Ahmed. Couple follow-up questions:

Have you heard anything about whether Google would be enabling Google+ reviews on adword campaigns anytime in the near future?

I am a healthcare provider, I would think that seller ratings would not apply to me. Is that correct?

John P,

There has been no additional info on allowing G+ reviews, but you should make sure you correctly sync your Google My Business Page in Location Extensions, that took over the old Google Maps, Google Places etc. Your Location extension

More info here.

Thanks Eric, I'll double check. Couple of other questions:

1. If I setup an adwords express campaign, will my Google+ reviews show up in my ads consistently or will it be hit and miss?

2. As far as the reviews showing up in my ads, is that at all contingent on the number of followers my google+ page has?

3. As far management goes, are adwords express campaigns customarily managed by 3rd parties as adwords campaigns are, or is it more or less a do-it-yourself thing?

Thanks again

1) I would venture to guess if would be more hit and miss, an more likely tied to the ave position or Ad Rank of the query being in the top 1,2 positions per keyword query.

2) From https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722132

  • Your Google+ page needs to have recent, high-quality posts and a significant number of followers, meaning a minimum of 100 for most companies.

3) Adwords express has it's pro's and con's.   In my opinion ONLY, the only PRO is the fact one can potentially show reviews.  The con's are you have no keyword control by using negative keywords, your Ads can be displayed for 100's of irrelevant terms, the CPC's are usually higher because of your lack of control and sculpting your account.  But it would be something in the "do it yourself" range because there is not much control and not much to change, edit, review "manage".. (If this resonates, Express is like asking the IRS to do your Taxes for you, it will be done, but may not get the best deductions,  refund etc.)

Also since you mentioned your were "Health care provider"  you should review the recent policy changes to make sure what you are able to advertise with adwords - https://support.google.com/adwordspolicy/answer/176031

Hi John,

For your AdWords you would need a third party review aggregator such as: https://support.google.com/adwords/answer/2375474?hl=en-GB

I would recommend Reviews.io and Reviews.co.uk from that list.
