Dear All! How the impressions in a CPM campaign are counted? For example, if an ad is displayed to a person onto his 10 webpages opened then, it means 10 out of 1,000 impressions have been consumed? please guide me for this concern. Thanks!

Hi Sha L

Yes, your understanding is correct regarding the impressions counting. I think you are interested in running a CPM bidding campaign, so I suggest that you use frequency capping feature which will help you to limit the number of impressions for a unique user. Go through this Adwords support article for more:-

Hello Sha L,

To add to the very good advice above : If you ticked the option "Viewable CPM" in a CPM campaign, then the column "impressions" is no longer reporting how many impressions have been consumed from the 1000 you bidded for. In this case the 10 impressions you pay for are deducted from the "viewable impressions" metric , a custom column you have to add.
