Hits from Google in India

I posted an Adwords ad with (for me), a significant budget. My target was the U.S. I've been getting multiple hits, a few seconds apart, from someone who's IP resolves to Google in India. Is this normal (reasonable)? Would Google have someone in India clicking through my add at $6 a click?

Hi Charles,

If you want to target the US audiences only then I would recommend to change your campaign's location options(advanced) settings as:

Target: People in my targeted location (US)

Exclude: People in my excluded location (India + any other location form where you are getting the clicks)

Please note that this feature is available for campaigns with all features.

Hello Charles N,

Make sure you are targeting the correct places. (I know there are a lot of places around me that that have the same names are areas that are in England) as well try changing your settings to "People in my targeted locations". that should eliminate clicks from anywhere other than your targeted area.

Hope that helps

Hi @Charles N

Absolutely, first check your location targeting as @Terry Crowder and @Archit explained. However if you're getting multiple clicks from a single IP that you consider undesirable, you can always go beyond location targeting and exclude that IP address.

1. Open Campaign, click Settings

2. Under All Settings, scroll down to Advanced Settings, expand IP exclusions

3. Next to "Manage IP exclusions" click the blue hyperlinked Edit

4. Enter the IP address you wish to exclude and click Save

I hope these solutions resolve your problem!

My target is the U.S. It's happened twice, from a different IP each
time. My question has to do with the fact that these multiple hits are
coming from a Google IP in India. Why would Google be doing this? $84
worth of hits isn't a deal breaker, but is this part of Google's
business model? Do they have people in India clicking on Adwords links?
