1. When placing a tag on my site, do I really only need to use the universal tag? I have 2 remarketing lists and they have tags, so would I do something with those or does the universal tag count towards that? I only want these adds to show up when someone has gained my cookie from visiting my site, so I only have it connected with 2 remarketing lists, no keywords or interests/placements, I dunno if that makes a difference.

2. Is it normal that my adds haven't gained any impressions? I've only had it running for about 3 days and I know the tags to to gain momentum before anything really happens, just making sure before I freak out about it.

Hey there!

1. Yes, one universal tag works and delete all old ones from the old way it was done

2. You probably haven't got any impressions because you're not using the universal tag, or your list is not open / active. Have you definitely attributed an active list to the ad group you're trying to get impressions from? There is a minimum too of how many people you need in your list before it starts showing ads. I believe it's 500, but I could well be wrong on that. The detail of that side-issue is not so important anyway; focus on getting the right tags in place, create your lists, and let me know how you get on from there.

Good luck

Alright, just to make sure this is what the universal tag looks like?

/* */
var google_conversion_id = 980735274;
var google_custom_params = window.google_tag_params;
var google_remarketing_only = true;
/* */
<script type="text/javascript"

Can you place this tag in the footer of the website and it's all set? Or do I need to go and manually put it into every page?

Also when I use the Tag Assistant on tag I get this: Suggestion: Both and used. Which doesn't make much sense, I think I'm only using script. Will this mess the tag up?

I believe it's around 500 from what I've read, I know it could take up to about two weeks to really hit the ground running but again that's just from what I've read. Right now I think I have 71 total visits.

The remarketing lists are set up pretty simply, I went to my Audiences set up a new remarketing list. I selected visitors of a page with a specific tag and selected new tag. Then I made a remarketing campaign in the display network with my image ads and then added that remarketing list to the adgroup within the campaign. Does that sound correct?
