Hi Kate! I Spoke to a few customers recently about having issues with account access. Sometimes users cannot get access because their email is attached to another Google AdWords account.

What Is Happening?

The email address example@gmail.com is currently associated with another Adwords Account. If you attempt to sign into Adwords here with that email you will it will log you into an account. It is essentially a ‘shell’ account with nothing running, or any billing details, but has indeed been created. It is important to note that an email address can only be linked to one Adwords Account at any time. This is the reason when you try and accept the invitation on another account, and error appears.

How To Rectify?

What we need to do is add another administrative email address to the "Shell Account". Once it has been added, we can then remove example@gmail.com from the "Shell Account" and as such, it will be free to be added to the correct Adwords Account Smiley Happy

I would recommend creating a mock Gmail account here, and adding that to the "Shell Account" as an administrative user. What is very important to note is that when accepting an invitation you follow the steps outlined below. What often happens is that the wrong answers are given when accepting the account, and as such a Shell account is created.

This should resolve any issues and allow the desired user to have access!

Thanks Kate!
