Hello Folks!

Question:

How can you make sure that you don’t exceed your predetermined costs of impressions in the campaign you’re running?

Thanks very much in advance,

Jasper

Hi @Jasper S - thanks for your question!

To confirm, you are not charged for impressions you receive. Impressions accrue when your ad is shown to a potential customer, but you are only charged when they actually click on your ad.

If you want to make sure you stay within a pre-determined budget the easiest way to do that is to carefully set your daily budget! You can do this by navigating to your Settings tab, and scroll to the "Budget" section and enter an individual daily budget.

It's important to remember that your daily spend varies, and may peak at 20% above your daily budget to help your campaign reach its potential. However you will have a monthly charging limit. Here's an example: if your daily budget is €1.00 throughout the entire month, you will not be charged more than €30.40 for the month (€1.00 daily budget * 30.4 average days per month).

I hope this information helps!

Hello Jasper,

There are some really cool automated rules that you can use to shut off your account when you hit your desired spend. If you do not want that, but perhaps you want to slow down the spend you can set up different rules for that as well.

To learn about automated rules follow this link. https://support.google.com/ There is so much you can do.

Hope that helps.

As Terry C said, it can be done with automated rules. Click on the button that says "Automation" and look for the corresponding option in the drop down menu.
It can be done at Campaign, Ad Group or even Keyword / Placement level.
To achieve what you want in this particular case you can create an automation to pause a campaign/ad group/placement when it reaches your desired cost or number of impressions.
