Google Adwords unverified

I have trouble getting Google AdWords conversion working on some of my sites. It just shows as "Unverified" on my conversion page at Google AdWrods.

The code is placed just before the end of the </body> tag on my page and i can successfully track the request made to http://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/conversion/XXXXXXXX/ , when the formular on my page has been filled out.

My page is not redirecting to a thank you page, but instead posting back and then showing the code on the same page (ASP.NET). But i have used this method on other sites with success.

I simply don't get this. Any advice?

Hello and welcome,

If I am not mistaken, you are refering to a situation where you don't have a thanks page but you still want to track the conversion happening through your Google ads. Let me know if that isn't the case here.

Unverified means that the conversion has yet to be complete before Adwords can verify it and update that in your account. I hope you have included the tracking code correctly. http://support.google.com/adwords/answer/1722054/?hl=en&from=115794&rd=1

Also, there an excellent thread where TC Pete has explained very well how an advertiser can accomplish and track conversion without thanks page.. You might consider looking at that and see if that makes some sense to you.

Thank you and thanks for your answer.

I don't have a thanks page, but i am doing a post back after my submit button is clicked, and then including the Google Conversion code. The request to the Google Conversion server is also happening on my submit click, i've tracked it. I've already followed all the advice i've found on Google's official support pages, everything seems to be 100% correct.

Funny thing is, i'm using exactly the same method on other pages, and that is working just fine.

I can't use the solution TC Pete provided in the thread you posted, since i am doing a postback after my submit button is clicked, so there's not time for a "javascript onclick" event, before the postback is happening.

Hi kk-of-awesome,

Ok, you are doing a post-back to the same page, aka AJAX. That does not preclude the onsubmit() method I discussed elsewhere. I won't dwell on that. With that method, you can use either onclick() for a link or onsubmit() for a form, the script will be the same.

Here's the real deal. When you do a post back to a page, none of the returned Javascript on the content posted back will run-not even the noscript part, unless that script is returned in an iFrame with a src defined. If your script creates an iFrame and fills it with the content returned by your post back, the Javascript does not run.

Here's the solution: Return only the image part of the conversoin script in the content you post back. Do not include the "noscript" tags, just the image. That will record your conversions and it's a little easier than the onclick()/onsubmit() method to setup.

Best of Luck!

Pete

I have copied the code into "thank you" page and the status is still unverified.

I installed "Tag Assistant" and went to thank you page, the error message is "missing CDATA comments". However, when I check for the code, everything appeared normal. Can someone help? here is the link, http://moneyworkssingapore.com/thank-you/?preview=true&preview_id=776&preview_nonce=99a67d9641
