Another business is using my company name in their Google Ads, how do I get them to stop misrepresenting my business?

Thanks,

Erin

Hi Erin T

It may be possible for you to prevent this, if you have the company name registered as a trademark.

If a trademark owner files a complaint with Google about the use of their trademark in AdWords ads, Google will investigate and may enforce certain restrictions on the use of that trademark in AdWords text ads. This policy applies worldwide.

Please see the following link for more details:

Hope that helps a little

Hi Erin T,

James is correct. The link he provided is full of useful information that you should review as a Trademark owner. Once you have reviewed this information, use this link to submit a complaint/register your trademark: https://services.google.com/inquiry/aw_tmcomplaint?hl=en-GB

After it has been processed, you can file a complaint about this advertiser. The policy team will re-review the ads, and if they are not compliant with the Trademark and Reseller Policy they will no longer be allowed to run: https://support.google.com/adwords/troubleshooter/4578507?rd=1
