Hi,

In Google Analytics I setup my goal by specifying a "url" say for eg. a thankyou page (/thankyou.php). But how do I setup a goal in Google Adwords (how do i specify my page url)?

Thanks,
Kevin

Hey Kevin,

  1. The easiest way to setup a goal (called Conversion in Google AdWords) is by adding a "conversion code" to the HTML code of your thank you page.

    learn how: http://support.google.com/adwords/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1722054

  2. Since you are already using Google Analytics - you can also import the goals you have on Analytics to Google AdWords - learn how: http://support.google.com/analytics/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1034306

Good Luck,

Asaf

Using the 2nd method asafpaz mentioned (importing from analytics) is quite an easy way to get it setup if you are unfamiliar with adding code to websites and don't want a developer involved in setting it up. Just link the accounts and hit the import button on the conversion page.

It takes about 2 weeks for the analytics goals to be able to be imported and appear as conversion data in your AdWords account.

If you need conversions being tracked sooner I'd recommend using the conversion tracking code you get from creating it within AdWords and installing this code on the conversion/goal page.
