Getting the paid program for youtube videos to work

Visitor ✭ ✭ ✭

I have 1 video on Youtube.

I linked it to my Adwords account [I don't know what IIm doing].

After uploading the vid on Youtube I followed a link like "to market your video go here" --  whatever. I'll do paid initially and add SEO later, but not the display network.

The linkt lead me to an Adwords page, I think. I just can't see what next steps to take. My Adwords acct says no video has been enabled. And I'm not sure what my channel is - I think it's "MRBrookbend". I just don't know how to get around.

I know I never added any url anywhere for the vid. And no url link from the vid to my website. HELP.

Can you explain EXACTLY what you are looking to do?

Are you trying to advertise your video?

Are you trying to make money from your video?

Hi pmarc,

If your purpose is to advertise a product or service in your youtube channel

A very good place to see is here :

http://support.google.com/adwords/certification/bin/static.py?hl=en&guide=27429&printable=1&page=gui...

If your purpose is to make money from other advertisers then you should go and study this for start Smiley Wink

http://www.dailyblogtips.com/how-to-make-money-on-youtube/

If your Channel is the following

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDT7uGZ7cK0

I see you have only 4 views so read this first :

In a nutshell you make money on YouTube by becoming a YouTube partner, which allows you to display ads on your videos, and then you earn a percentage of the revenues generated by clicks on those ads, much like with AdSense. As for how much money you can actually make, I heard numbers anywhere from $3 up to $10 per 1,000 video views.

One of the most important criteria the YouTube guys will use to evaluate your application is the audience you reach on YouTube. They don’t reveal what are the requirements, but I’ve seen many people say these are the ballpark numbers you need to have before getting accepted:

  • at least 1,000 subscribers
  • at least 1,000 views on all your videos
  • at least 10,000 channel views

Finaly if this is your goal, to make money by a youtube channel then AdWords forum is not THE place to start asking questions. If you register a adSence account there is a support forum there to answer your questions.

I hope I helped you.

Best regards

I don't want Adsense.

I want to advertise my video as I thought it was possible like Adwords.

I think my problem is...  when you land on some kind of adwords page it asks you to select a video from youtube. I have no idea how to do this. Am I supposed to be able to find my vid doing some kind of search? Doesn't make sense.

You need to create a new video campaign in AdWords.

http://adwords.google.com/video?sourceid=awo&subid=ww-ww-et-v_ads_yt_nextsteps&utm_source=YT_Adverti...

To select your video, click the "Select Video" button, enter your channel name, then select the video you want to promote.

You can select the targeting on the next page.

Ok. I selected my channel. Now I'm at "Create new ad" .

I dont use youtube. For my purposes should I be fooling around at this point with slate, display or stream? I need a high ctr because of my limited audience - it's a high price point.

Also - "Ad attributes (required)"

If it's a specialty product should I actually start with a high-level term like "teak patio furniture" then work my way down with more detailed kw's?

If you don't use youtube and you don't really know what you want to do, I'd hold off on running a campaign until you learn more.

I#d read the advertiser playbook in full before you continue:

Here's how to set up the campaign in full when you are ready:
