Getting duplicate UTM fields in my URLs

Hi all,

I've been using auto-tagging for some time now, but due to my latest client tracking everything via Hubspot, I have to now use manual tagging. I'm having an issue where I paste in my dynamic tags to my final URL as:

www.example.com?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign={campaignid}&utm_adgroup={adgroupid}&u...}

and my tracking template as:

{lpurl}?campaign={campaignid}&adgroup={adgroupid}&content={creative}&keyword={keyword}&matchtype={matchtype}&device={device}


When my ads are clicked though there are now two sets of UTMs:

?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=1234567&utm_adgroup=1234567&utm_device=c&utm%20term=how_utm_e&campaign=1234567&adgroup=1234567&content=1234567&keyword=utm%20term&matchtype=e&device=c

 

Am I making a mistake by outlining my dynamic UTM tags ({keyword}, {device}, etc) in the template? Or can they be removed from there?

Hi @John M,

 

You should not use UTMs in Final URL field if you are already using them in Tracking Template. Removing them will fix the issue.
