Geo Fencing Mobile Ad or Coupons

Sorry for the bit out of area question.  But looking to do some very location based, mobile advertising.  Whether it's pushing out an in-app ad or a notification, when a person gets inside a specific area. For example, if some goes to a ball game  I want those people to see a specific ad or coupon.

Anyone have any expertise that they'd care to share???  Thanks in Advance.

Hi Key West Express,
IMO - it depends on what channel you're targeting - Search and/or GDN.

Via Search, you can do radius targeting and "areas of interest targeting" (see link below), but you still need to to select Keywords for people to search on, you can't send them an ad when they walk into a stadium if they don't search. This might be a good idea if you have a feeling that people are looking for Keywords that may be relevant to your coupon, but I think this would be low volume.

Probably a better way to reach this audience is via a Display Campaign and/or by targeting Mobile Apps. Then, you could also select a geographic area and target that way (link below). However, you'd still need the user to either be on a site that is in the GDN while on their mobile phone and/or use an app in Google's Network. Just use the link above to adjust your Campaign Settings and you can do targeting towards the particular stadium. As far as I know, there is no way to do a push notification via AdWords.

Finally, since you want to target mobile devices, make sure to do Bid Adjustments to increase your bids on mobile devices.

Some platforms are now offering the ability to target a person while - and even for x days after - they were in a very specific location (as long as they opened their mobile browser while in that location). Google should look into offering this type of geo-fencing advertising as a type of remarketing.

Paul,

Do you have any idea of a platform that can do this?
