Genuine help understanding why an ad wasn't approved

Hi There,

We're having trouble understanding why the ad attached wasn't approved.

We've gone through the balloons and read the help box but there's no indication of why it wasn't approved. This is a remarking ad that goes to the following register site

Any pointers in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Ben

Although we have a privacy policy on the main site, the registration site is separate - is it because there's no privacy policy maybe? We're adding a link now.

A 'talk to the hand' approach to declining ads is incredibly frustrating, some indication of why an ad was declined (like if it's the ad itself or the page it links to etc) would be mildly helpful here!

Hi there;
The link to your site is broken;
Under the Policy column, on the Ads tab - what is their reason mentioned for the disapproval?

Thanks heaps for the reply, I have no idea why the link in the original post doesn't work as the site definitely works (have even tried to edit the original post): register.facilitiesintegrate.nz

I don't seem to have a policy column, I just see 'Status' column with lots of helpful boxes that say it's easy to fix but doesn't actually state what is wrong?

OK, so have received an email that states:
"Inaccurate display URL: To help make sure that our ads are relevant, useful, and easy to interact with, ads need to accurately show what website they'll take people to. Your display URL needs to accurately reflect the URL of your website and be a viable web address that is part of your ad's destination domain"

We have a URL (register.facilitiesintegrate.nz) which redirects to the registration site because the actual URL is branded with the IT company who is managing the registrations and barcodes for the event.

The thing we're confused about is that register.facilitiesintegrate.nz does accurately show what website people will be taken to - people are going to register for facilities integrate.

So does this mean we have to use the IT company's domain name for the link - none of their branding is on the page which is why we're using our own URL in advertising.

The issue is that you can't have a vanity URL that redirects.

No, you can't the domain the user ends up on has to be the same one shown in the ad.

That said, you could probably whip up some DNS magic (a CNAME record perhaps?) that would let you essentially show their webpage on your domain.
