Exact match changes this year

I am wondering whether most AdWords advertisers are aware of the changes to Exact Match that have taken place in the last few weeks.

For example, word order is no longer fixed for Exact Match, and certain kinds of words can be added or disregarded. The official Google documentation on Exact Match does reflect the changes. But I don't see any announcement on this forum about the changes.

Advertisers can take steps to deal with the effects of the changes if they are badly affected by them, such as using more negative keywords.
